SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University men's and women's basketball teams are asking for Sea Gull Nation's help to make the holiday season a little more magical for those less fortunate, as they hold their annual Teddy Bear Toss on Wednesday, December 6, during halftime of each team's game against visiting Marymount (Va.) University.
Fans who would like to participate can bring new stuffed animals to donate as part of the event at halftime of each game. Fans who bring a stuffed animal for donation will receive free admission to the games that evening and will have a chance to throw their donations into bins placed at midcourt. If one of the stuffed animals lands in a bin, the fan who threw it will win a prize.
At halftime of the women's game, the prize will be a gift basket packed with Salisbury basketball gear donated by the team, including shorts, shirts, and other equipment. The prize available at halftime of the men's game will be a flat-screen television. If multiple people make a shot during a single halftime, a shootout will take place to determine the winner.
All of the donated stuffed animals will be donated to Toys for Tots.
Fans are encouraged to bring multiple toys for donation and participate in each halftime contest. The women's game against Marymount begins at 5:30 p.m., while the men's game is scheduled to tip off at 7:30 p.m., in Maggs Physical Activities Center.
