Baseball ranked No. 22 in both and ABCA poll

SALISBURY, Md. - The organizations and the American Baseball Coaches Association released their week 6 Top 25 poll Tuesday. Salisbury University baseball was recognized by and is back in the top 25 earning the No. 22 ranking. The Sea Gulls were also ranked No. 22 in this week's ABCA poll.

Salisbury moved its record to 20-7 winning six straight games. The Sea Gulls defeated Wesley College (7-5), Washington (Md.) College (3-1), and swept the doubleheader with Frostburg State University (6-1 and 9-7) last week. The maroon and gold sit one spot back of first place Christopher Newport University in the Capital Athletic Conference standings with an 11-1 record while the Captains boast a 12-0 mark. The Sea Gulls are ranked higher than their CAC rival in this week's polls as CNU came in ranked No. 23 in the poll and No. 30 in the ABCA poll.

Shenandoah University remained in the top spot in this week's polls. The top five was rounded out by No. 2 LaGrange College, No. 3 Birmingham-Southern College, No.4 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, and No. 5 University of Texas-Tyler in the poll. The same five schools rounded out the top five in the ABCA poll with Texas-Tyler ranked No. 3 and Birmingham-Southern ranked No. 5.

Salisbury returns to action tonight as they take on the Delmarva Shorebirds the Class-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles. The game is set for 6:05 p.m.
