Heenan tabbed ECAC South region Pitcher of the Week

DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference released weekly baseball awards on Tuesday afternoon for the week ending April 1. Salisbury baseball senior pitcher Austin Heenan earned recognition from the organization being named the ECAC Baseball Division III South Pitcher of the Week.

Heenan helped lead the Sea Gulls to two victories over the past week against Franklin & Marshall College on March 27 and No. 11 Frostburg State University on March 31.

Against Franklin & Marshall, Heenan tossed seven scoreless innings, striking out seven batters while allowing only three hits and two walks to earn his third win of the season.

Heenan carried his success into the weekend, where he tossed another seven innings against No. 11 Frostburg State. He allowed only one unearned run while tying a season-high with 10 strikeouts for win number four.

For the season, Heenan holds a 1.57 ERA with 51 strikeouts over 46 innings of work. His record sits at 4-2.

Salisbury returns to action on Tuesday, April 3 when it hosts Stevenson University. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
