FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Capital Athletic Conference released its weekly honors on Monday afternoon and for the second time in three weeks Salisbury University baseball junior infielder Jack Barry was named Player of the Week.
Barry helped lead the Sea Gulls to a 3-1 record for the week ending on April 29 and lock up the No. 1 seed in the upcoming CAC tournament. He went 10-for-17 while batting .626 during the week with seven extra base hits, including two home runs. Barry scored seven runs and drove home another nine. In an 11-3 win over Penn State Harrisburg on Saturday, Barry fell just a single shy of hitting for the cycle.
For the season, Barry is hitting .408 with seven home runs, 28 runs batted in, 42 runs scored, and six stolen bases.
Salisbury will return to action when it hosts the opening round of the CAC tournament beginning Friday, May 4. A neutral site game between York College of Pennsylvania and Frostburg State University will begin at 9 a.m., with Salisbury playing the loser of that game at 12:30 p.m., and the winner at 4 p.m.
