FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Capital Athletic Conference released its weekly honors on Monday afternoon and for the second time in three weeks, Salisbury University baseball senior pitcher Connor Reeves was named Pitcher of the Week.
Reeves helped the Sea Gulls win game two of a three-game sweep of the first round of the CAC tournament last Friday, May 4 against York College of Pennsylvania. He tossed a complete-game shutout in the win – his second of the season – and tied his season best with 11 strikeouts. Reeves allowed only five hits and two walks throughout the contest.
For the season, Reeves holds a 12-3 record, with a 1.33 earned-run average. He has struck out 90 batters through 101 2/3 innings pitched, which also includes two saves. Reeves' 12 wins has him tied for most all-time in both CAC and Salisbury University history, and currently has him sitting alone atop all of Division III in that category.
Salisbury will return to action this Friday, May 11 when it hosts Penn State University-Harrisburg in game one of the conference championship series at 3:30 p.m. at Sea Gull Baseball Stadium. Game two of the series will take place on Saturday, May 12 at 11 a.m., with game three set for 2 p.m., if necessary.
