Reeves named D3baseball.com Pitcher of the Year, First Team All-American; Heenan receives honorable mention

MINNEAPOLIS – The organization D3baseball.com released its 2018 All-American teams Wednesday afternoon. Salisbury University senior pitcher Connor Reeves was recognized as the D3baseball.com Pitcher of the Year and named a First Team All-American after his record-breaking season with the Sea Gulls. Senior Pitcher Austin Heenan received honorable mention by the organization.

Reeves had an impressive senior season for the Sea Gulls, collecting a 14-3 record in 20 appearances. His 14 wins are the most in Division III baseball this season, which breaks both the Salisbury University and Capital Athletic Conference single season records. Reeves also leads the nation with a 0.73 WHIP, is fourth in strikeouts with 113, and holds the seventh-best earned run average at 1.19.

Reeves' postseason accolades continue to stockpile, as he has also been named Capital Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year and First Team All-Conference, D3baseball.com All-South Region First Team and Pitcher of the Year, and ABCA/Rawlings South All-Region First Team and Pitcher of the Year.

Heenan's honorable mention was also well-deserved after compiling a 10-4 record in 15 appearances for the Sea Gulls. He finished his senior season with a 2.24 earned run average and struck out 118 batters over 100 2/3 innings of work, ranking him second in Division III in strikeouts. Heanan has also earned D3baseball.com All-South Region First Team and Capital Athletic Conference First Team honors for his work this season.

A total of 888 players were nominated for the 12th annual D3baseball.com All-America team.
