The Salisbury University baseball team returned home for the first time since opening weekend to host eastern shore rival Washington College on Monday afternoon. Starting pitcher Wes Whitlock threw four solid innings, giving up only one hit and striking out four batters. The offense came alive in the second inning to score four runs, including an RBI single to left field by Justin Meekins. They would tack on six more runs in the fourth inning, including a 2-RBI double to left center field by Colby Dean. The Gulls came back for more in the sixth inning, dropping another six into the run column, including a pinch hit 3-run homerun by Simon Palenchar. Salisbury would go on to win the game 17-3. The team returns to action on Wednesday, March 7 when it hosts Keystone College. First pitch is set for 2 p.m.
