Video: Baseball vs Wesley
The Salisbury University Baseball team hosted Capital Athletic Conference Rival Wesley College on Wednesday, March 28 at Sea Gull Baseball Stadium. Prior to first pitch, Head Coach Troy Brohawn was presented with a plaque and poster honoring his 100th win as Salisbury’s skipper, which he earned in a 12-6 victory over Manhattanville College back on March 11. Wes Whitlock got the nod for the Sea Gulls, pitching five strong innings while giving up only two runs on five hits in the no-decision. Shortstop Scott Ardoin put his team in front in the bottom of the second inning when he sent this two-out solo shot over the left field wall. The Wolverines jumped ahead in the fourth inning and had a great opportunity to open up their lead in the 5th on a ball driven to shallow left center, but Colby Dean made the diving play to end the inning and leave two runners stranded. 2-2 game. Bottom of the ninth. Bases loaded. Two outs. Jack Decker stepped to the plate with a chance to win the game for the Sea Gulls. This line drive to right field did the trick, as Salisbury went on to defeat Wesley College in walk-off fashion, 4-3. The team returns to action on Saturday, March 31 when it hosts CAC rival Frostburg State University in a doubleheader matchup. Game one is set to begin at 12 p.m.
