Dwyer named CAC Pitcher of the Week

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Capital Athletic Conference announced its weekly baseball award winners on Monday and Salisbury University junior pitcher Clayton Dwyer was named the league's Pitcher of the Week.

Dwyer started game one of a Saturday doubleheader against No. 15 Oswego State University and went the distance to earn the victory and his first complete game as a Sea Gull. He recorded an impressive 10 strikeouts in the effort, while allowing only one run and no walks. Dwyer now sits at 2-1 on the season with a 2.63 earned run average and 26 total strikeouts.

The baseball team returns to action on Tuesday, March 5 when it hosts the Virginia Wesleyan University Marlins. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.
