Baseball jumps two spots to No. 14 in latest ABCA poll; up to No. 15 in D3baseball.com/NCBWA poll

SALISBURY, Md. – D3baseball.com and the American Baseball Coaches Association released their weekly rankings on Tuesday afternoon. Salisbury University was recognized by both organizations, jumping to No. 14 in the ABCA poll and No. 18 in the D3baseball.com poll.

The Sea Gulls (17-4-1) increased their current winning streak to 11 games over the weekend with a three-game sweep of Capital Athletic Conference opponent Penn State University-Harrisburg. The team currently holds a perfect 9-0 record  in conference play.

Tied atop the conference standings with a 9-0 record of its own is Christopher Newport University, which continues to be recognized by both organizations as one of the top programs in the country. The Captains remain the top-ranked team in the nation in the D3baseball/NCBWA poll while coming in at No. 2 — 15 points behind Concordia University-Chicago — in the ABCA poll for the second straight week.

Salisbury and Christopher Newport will meet in Newport News, Virginia this weekend for a three-game conference series beginning Friday, April 5 at 3 p.m.

The Sea Gulls return to action on Tuesday afternoon when they travel to Stevenson University for a game beginning at 3:30 p.m.
