GREENSBORO, N.C. – The American Baseball Coaches Association and Rawlings announced its annual All-Region teams on Tuesday, and Salisbury University sophomore Jimmy Adkins was recognized by the organizations after being named to the South All-Region Second Team as a utility player.
As a hitter, Adkins recorded a .343 season batting average in 108 at-bats. The sophomore added 37 hits, scored 28 runs, and drove home another 37. He also drew 18 walks and swiped 12 bases.
Adkins also impressed on the mound, appearing in 17 games – including 11 as a starter. He posted a 3.14 earned run average across 83 innings of work for a 5-2 overall record with two saves. Adkins also recorded three complete games, including a shutout on the road against then No. 1 Christopher Newport University back on April 7.
