Cynewski named ACFC Defensive Player of the Week
SALISBURY, Md.- Salisbury University senior defensive lineman Paul Cynewski (Moorestown, N.J.) has received Atlantic Central Football Conference (ACFC) Defensive Player of the Week accolades for his performance in Saturday's 27-21 loss to Christopher Newport University.
In the triple-overtime loss against the Captains, Cynewski collected a game-high 15 tackles and one sack. He was one of eight defensive players who had at least eight tackles in the game, notching 11 solo tackles and three tackles for losses. Cynewski leads the team with 24 total tackles, 18 of them solo this season.
Cynewski is the first Sea Gull to garner ACFC Defensive Player of the Week honors this season; senior punter Andrew Geisert (White Plains, Md.) and sophomore kicker Tommy Kowalick (Sterling, Va.) have both been named ACFC Special Teams Players of the Week in the past two weeks.
After two road games, Salisbury returns to Sea Gull Stadium as it takes on St. John Fisher College this Saturday, Sept. 26, at 12 p.m.
