LEESBURG, Va. – The Salisbury University football team's offensive line was named Beyond Sports Network's Division III Offensive Line of the Week, the organization announced on Monday.
The line – led by starters Gaven Parker and R.J. Murray (tackles), Mark Bohanan and Jeremy Harrissmith (guards) and Brian Mansfield (center) – helped the Sea Gulls amass a season-high 611 yards of offense. SU ran for nine touchdowns and 564 yards in a 63-23 win over Utica College to claim the Empire 8's automatic qualification to the NCAA tournament.
The nine rushing TDs are the most for Salisbury (7-2, 5-1 Empire 8) since it matched the number in a 70-45 win at Utica last season. It was also the first time the Gulls had over 600 yards of offense since the win against the Pioneers on Oct. 1, 2011.
Salisbury travels to Frostburg, Md., and Bobcat Stadium, to take on Frostburg State University this Saturday in the 14th annual Regents Cup Game to close the regular season. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m.
