Football remains high in polls, sits at No. 11 in AFCA rankings

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University football team continues to receive a great deal of respect from the pollsters, with the Sea Gulls remaining in the top half of three polls, sitting at No. 11 in the American Football Coaches Association poll, No. 13 in the D3football.com poll, and No. 3 in the ECAC Lambert Poll.

Salisbury topped The College of New Jersey, 41-6, this past Saturday on Homecoming to earn the high praise, gaining 566 points in the AFCA poll, less than 50 points out of the top 10. The Sea Gulls held at No. 13 in the D3football.com poll, with 320 points, nearly 80 points clear of No. 14 St. John Fisher College, while Salisbury held at No. 3 in the Lambert poll, just ahead of fellow NJAC member, Christopher Newport University.

The top-five teams in each national poll match up and remain the same with the University of Mount Union on top, looking to No. 2 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, No. 3 The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, No. 4 St. Thomas University Minnesota, and the No. 5 University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
