DANBURY, Conn. – The Salisbury University football team is going to continue its 2017 season for one more week with Monday afternoon's announcement from the Eastern College Athletic Conference that the Sea Gulls have been selected to participate in the ECAC D3 Football Fest this Saturday, November 18.
Salisbury (7-3) has been tabbed to play in the Scotty Whitelaw Bowl on Saturday, beginning at 5 p.m., against Ithaca College (7-3). The game will be played at Delaware Stadium on the campus of the University of Delaware.
The selection marks Salisbury's 14th-straight postseason appearance. The Sea Gulls have played in an ECAC Bowl game eight previous times, coming away with six victories, most recently a 52-20 win against Carnegie Mellon University in the ECAC Legacy Bowl in 2016.
The Sea Gulls and Bombers are no strangers, having met five previous times, while having spent four seasons together in the Empire 8 Athletic Conference. Ithaca holds a 3-2 edge in the all-time series.
