PITMAN, N.J. – The New Jersey Athletic Conference released weekly football awards on Sunday morning for the week ending September 29. Salisbury University football freshman Londell Montgomery earned conference recognition as he was named the NJAC Offensive Rookie of the Week.
Montgomery turned in a solid performance in the Sea Gulls' 42-0 victory over William Paterson University on Saturday, September 29. Montgomery rushed for 16 yards in his collegiate debut while averaging 5.3 yards per carry on just three attempts. He aided in a Salisbury rushing attack that totaled 471 yards against the Pioneers.
He becomes the second Sea Gull to earn Rookie of the Week honors this season as Jacob Philip also earned the honor earlier this season after an impressive week one performance against Albright College.
Salisbury returns to action on Saturday, October 6 when it travels to Christopher Newport University. The game is scheduled to kickoff at 6 p.m.
