SALISBURY, Md. – With the fall athletics season underway at Salisbury University, the Varsity Club would like to announce that Hall of Fame Head Coach Dawn Chamberlin will be the speaker at the Varsity Club Coaches Luncheon this Thursday, September 6, at noon. The luncheon will be held in the Caroline Room of the Commons.
Chamberlin, who has been at the helm of the Sea Gull field hockey program for 26 years, has guided the Gulls to four of the program's five national championships in her tenure. In 2009, the three-time NCAA Division III National Coach of the Year was inducted into the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Hall of Fame.
Sherman Wood, Salisbury's head football coach, will be in attendance as well, giving his analysis of the football team's 40-16 win at Christopher Newport University this past weekend and will look ahead to Salisbury's home opener against No. 3 Wesley College.
The luncheon is open to the public; the cost of lunch is $8.90 plus tax per adult and $4.57 plus tax for kids aged 6-12. Kids under the age of 5 are free.
