Sea Gulls remain top-ranked team in nation for second straight week

CHANDLER, Ariz. – The Salisbury University field hockey team remains the No. 1 team in the nation for the second consecutive week, as the 2012 Penn Monto/NFHCA Division III National Coaches Poll was released on Tuesday.

Salisbury, Middlebury College and The College of New Jersey are the top-three ranked teams, respectively. The Sea Gulls gained 20 additional first-place votes from last week to take 33 first-place votes while Middlebury claimed 17 and TCNJ earned 10.

Skidmore College moved up one slot to No. 4 while Capital Athletic Conference rival the University of Mary Washington entered the top five and collected the last two first-place votes.

The Sea Gulls will complete their four-game road trip on Wednesday, Oct. 10, as they head to No. 17 Rowan University for a 7 p.m., contest.

Salisbury's next home game will be on Saturday, Oct. 13, against Mary Washington in a CAC battle. The two teams are set to take the field at 6 p.m.
