SU field hockey set to host "Corners for Cancer" on Oct. 17, at 6 p.m.

SALISBURY, Md. - October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and in an effort to continue the fight against breast cancer and to promote prevention and awareness, the Salisbury University field hockey team has announced its third annual "Corners for Cancer" game will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 6 p.m.

Maroon and gold may be Salisbury's official colors, but fans are encouraged to wear pink on Wednesday evening at Sea Gull Stadium. The Salisbury field hockey team will be sporting pink uniforms to show their support for the cause. Leading up to the game Salisbury will also be collecting pledges for corners, where fans will be able to pledge a set amount for each penalty corner opportunity the Sea Gulls earn in the contest. Individuals interested in pledging may do so by contacting Head Coach Dawn Chamberlin.

The field hockey team will also be selling short and long sleeve "Corners for Cancer" shirts with the profits going to SU Relay for Life.

In addition to supporting a wonderful cause, fans will also be in for what is sure to be a great field hockey match. The Sea Gulls will take on Route 13 rival, Wesley College, in a Capital Athletic Conference showdown.

Salisbury is currently on an 11-game win streak, defeating its past four opponents on the road with a scoring margin of 15-4.
