CHANDLER, Ariz. – Salisbury University senior back Amber Holland recently garnered the honor of being named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III Senior Game. The game will be played on Saturday, Nov. 17, at William Smith College at 4 p.m. The NCAA Division III national championship game will be played on that same field the following day.
The Pocomoke, Md., native has led Salisbury's defense throughout the season adding six defensive saves, while helping her team produce five shutouts. Holland has also been an offensive scoring coordinator dishing out eight assists, good for first on the team.
In her three years as a Sea Gull, the senior captain has been a part of two NCAA tournament appearances and one Capital Athletic Conference championship team.
Holland is one of 30 seniors selected. Nine of those student-athletes competing in the senior game were members of opposing SU teams in 2012. She was one of four Capital Athletic Conference players selected for the game.
The Sea Gulls await the announcement of the NCAA Division III Field Hockey tournament bracket, on Monday, Nov. 5, to see if they will receive an at-large bid.
