CHANDLER, Ariz. – The Salisbury University field hockey team moved up yet another spot in the national rankings, earning the No. 3 spot in this week's Penn Monto/National Field Hockey Coaches' Association Coaches Poll, released on Tuesday.
The Sea Gulls (9-1, 1-0 Capital Athletic Conference), who earned a 2-0 victory against Catholic University of America on October 6, collected 776 points in this week's poll.
Messiah College (909 points, 43 first-place votes) and Bowdoin College (859 points, three first-place votes) maintained the top two spots. Middlebury College (723 points), last week's No. 3 team, dropped to No. 4 after falling to Tufts University on Saturday. Tufts' victory moved the Jumbos up from No. 7 last week to No. 5 this week (712 points).
Salisbury is set to square off against CAC opponent York College of Pennsylvania tomorrow, October 12, at Sea Gull Stadium. Game time is 6 p.m.
