CHANDLER, Ariz. – The National Field Hockey Coaches Association released its Penn Monto/NFHCA Division III week three poll on Tuesday afternoon and Salisbury University moved up one spot to No. 3 after a 2-0 week.
The Sea Gulls recorded a pair of 2-1 victories last week over Johns Hopkins University and the then ranked No. 3 The College of New Jersey in overtime. Salisbury totaled 846 points in this week's poll and currently sit 83 points behind current second-place team Babson College.
Messiah College remains firmly entrenched atop the poll with a 7-0 record and 987 points while receiving 43 first-place votes. TCNJ dropped one spot in the poll to No. 4 and Montclair State University moved up one to No. 5 to round out the top-five.
Fellow Capital Athletic Conference schools Christopher Newport University and the University of Mary Washington also appeared in this week's top-20. The Captains moved up two spots this week and sit at No. 15 receiving 316 points, while Mary Washington fell three spots to No. 17 in the poll earning 239 points.
The Sea Gulls return to action on Saturday, September 30, when they travel to No. 15 Christopher Newport in both teams CAC opener. The match is scheduled to start at 12 p.m.
