CHANDLER, Ariz. – The Salisbury University field hockey team will head into action this week as the No. 7 team in the nation with the National Field Hockey Coaches Association's release of the latest Penn Monto/NFHCA Division III Coaches Poll on Tuesday.
The Sea Gulls dropped their only contest of the last week, a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Christopher Newport University, which used the victory to jump five spots to No. 10 in this week's poll, with 439 points.
Salisbury picked up 658 points to sit seventh, just 12 points behind No. 6 Middlebury College.
Messiah College remains at the top spot this week with 890 points and 41 first-place votes, followed by Babson College (789 points and two first-place votes), Montclair State University (704 points and two first-place votes), Tufts University (698 points), and The College of New Jersey (686 points).
The Sea Gulls take the field on Wednesday, October 4 traveling to Catholic University of America. The Cardinals just joined the top 20 this week, as the No. 18 team, earning 145 points. Wednesday's game will begin at 6 p.m.
