Highlights: Field hockey tops Washington, 3-0
The third-ranked Salisbury University field hockey team earned its third shutout of the season, topping Washington College 3-0 on Wednesday night in Sea Gull Stadium. The Sea Gulls put on offensive pressure in the first half, getting one goal on a penalty stroke, but continued to push, attempting 10 shots in the first half. The game went to the half with Salisbury ahead 1-0 due to this stellar defensive save from sophomore Jillian Hughes. In the second half, it took just five minutes for Rachel Domanico to get her fourth goal of the year, off an Emily Lemanski assist. And Jenna Partilla notched her first career goal, after collecting the rebound from a Lemanski shot for the 3-0 lead and the final score. Salisbury returns to action this Saturday, September 16 traveling to Cabrini University.
