VIDEO: Field hockey tops Wesley on Corners for Cancer night
The No. 9 Salisbury University field hockey team rolled to a 9-0 win on the team’s eighth annual Corners for Cancer night on Wednesday against visiting Wesley College. Tara Daddio started the game strong for the home team, recording a hat trick before the game had hit the 20-minute mark. Daddio has now scored five goals during the 2017 season. Classmate Rebecca Lloyd added a pair of goals, scoring twice in the second half, putting home a rebound with 20 minutes left and adding a penalty stroke goal just before time expired. Three Sea Gulls scored their first goal of season, with Camryn Dennis using this blast to put home her first career marker, while sophomore Mary Guest scrambled in front of the net to finish this score. Senior Hayley Dize finished off two near Sea Gull misses, after Nicole Lindner hit the cross bar and Dize hit the post on her first chance, the popped home the final try for the goal. Salisbury is off for the next week before heading to York College of Pennsylvania next Wednesday, October 18 for the Sea Gulls’ next Capital Athletic Conference matchup.
