FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Capital Athletic Conference released weekly awards for the week ending October 6 and Salisbury University field hockey junior Tara Daddio earned conference recognition as she was named the CAC Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week.
Daddio helped the Sea Gulls to a 2-0 week that saw the maroon and gold pick up victories over The Catholic University of America, 6-1, and Frostburg State University, 6-0. Daddio netted five goals between the two matches, including a hat trick against the Cardinals on October 3. Against the Bobcats, Daddio totaled six points, netting two goals and two assists to help the Sea Gulls pick up their first conference victory of the season and push their record to 9-2 overall and 1-0 in CAC play.
For the season, Daddio has appeared in 11 games, netting 12 goals to go along with five assists to total 29 points thus far. Her 12 goals and 29 points rank first in the conference while her five assists rank her second.
Salisbury returns to action on Wednesday, October 10 when the Sea Gulls host the Wolverines of Wesley College. The game is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. at Sea Gull Stadium.
