VIDEO: Field hockey rolls to 6-1 win against Catholic
The eighth-ranked Salisbury University field hockey team collected a 6-1 victory against visiting Catholic University of America on Wednesday, October 3 at Sea Gull Stadium. Salisbury scored in a burst in the first half with Tara Daddio getting the first marker off an assist from Kellie Pickford before freshman McKenzie Mitchell scored twice in a span of less than two minutes. Mitchell was able to get through the final defender before putting the goals home on both efforts. In the second half, Salisbury saw Daddio finish off her hat trick with two second half tallies and Camryn Dennis scored once, coming up with a steal just outside of the circle and blasting a shot in for the goal. The Sea Gulls will begin Capital Athletic Conference play on Saturday, October 6 at Frostburg State University.
