YORK, Pa. – The Capital Athletic Conference announced its weekly basketball awards on Monday and Salisbury University senior Justin Witmer claimed CAC Player of the Week honors for the second time in his career.
Witmer led Salisbury to three wins in the past week, averaging nearly 20 points per game, 4.3 assists, and 3.3 rebounds.
The Gaithersburg, Maryland native opened the week with a career-high performance in both points and assists against Washington (Md.) College, scoring 27 and dishing out seven helpers.
In Salisbury's mid-week win at the University of Mary Washington, Witmer went for 14 points and four rebounds before closing things out with an 18-point, five-assist performance against Frostburg State University on Sunday afternoon.
Witmer only turned the ball over four times in the three games to finish the week with a 3.3 assist-to-turnover ratio.
Salisbury returns to action on Wednesday, January 11 hosting Marymount (Va.) University in a CAC contest slated to begin at 7:30 p.m.
