Men's basketball picked to finish fourth in CAC preseason poll

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Capital Athletic Conference released its men's basketball preseason poll on Thursday and Salisbury University was tabbed to finish fourth in the 2018-19 season.

The Sea Gulls earned 34 points in the poll among the head coaches, just four points behind third-place York College of Pennsylvania and five points behind second-place University of Mary Washington. Both York and Mary Washington each earned one first-place vote.

Christopher Newport University was picked as the preseason CAC favorite, with 48 points and six first-place votes.

The lower half of the conference preseason poll was made up of Frostburg State University (20 points), Penn State University-Harrisburg and St. Mary's College of Maryland (18 points each), and Southern Virginia University (nine points).

The Sea Gulls open the 2018-19 season on Saturday, November 10, hosting Arcadia University at Maggs Physical Activities Center, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
