Davis, Ward named to All-CAC teams

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Capital Athletic Conference announced its all-conference teams for men's basketball on Thursday and two Sea Gulls earned recognition from the league's coaches.

Senior Blair Davis was named to the All-CAC first team while sophomore Mike Ward picked up second team honors.

Davis, who was a second team pick a year ago, has been the Sea Gulls' floor general for the past two years. During the 2018-19 season, he leads the team and the CAC, averaging 4.5 assists per game. Davis has dished out at least five assists in 13 games this season, including his career-high eight helpers – which he's done three times. He is also scoring 14.4 points per game, which ranks 10th in the league.

Ward has been one of the top scorers in the league, averaging 15 points per game this season, which is the eighth highest average in the conference. Ward has scored at least 20 points six times this season, including the past two games of the Sea Gulls.

The Sea Gulls are the No. 4 seed in the CAC tournament, and will take on top-seeded Christopher Newport University in a semifinal contest on Thursday night, beginning at 8 p.m.
