SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University men's basketball team will tipoff play in the NCAA Tournament on Friday night in Oswego, New York, taking on Baldwin Wallace University beginning at 5:30 p.m.

How we got here

Salisbury closed out the regular season with a 18-7 record, taking the No. 4 seed in the Capital Athletic Conference tournament and advancing to the semifinal round before being eliminated by Christopher Newport University. Salisbury is one of 21 at-large teams selected to the field.

How they got here

The Yellow Jackets went 17-8 in the regular season and 11-7 in Ohio Athletic Conference play to earn the No. 5 seed in the OAC tournament. Baldwin Wallace ran off three road wins to claim the conference championship and the automatic bid into the NCAA tournament.

Series history

The teams have met twice, with Baldwin Wallace claiming both contests. The most recent game came during the 1997-98 season when the Yellow Jackets earned a 105-98 victory.

Scouting the Yellow Jackets

Baldwin Wallace enters Friday's game riding a five-game winning streak. The Yellow Jackets will test teams with their shooting from outside, attempting 816 three-pointers this season, the 13th-highest total in Division III. However, Baldwin Wallace ranks 101st in three-point percentage, making 36.5 percent of its tries. Defensive minded

Salisbury has been one of the top defensive teams in terms of steals during the 2018-19 season. The Sea Gulls have come up with 8.8 steals per game this season which leads the CAC and ranks 51st nationally. Seniors Marquis Roberson and Blair Davis lead that effort for Salisbury with Roberson claiming 2.0 steals per game and Davis coming up with 1.9.
