Salisbury ranked No. 1 in USILA coaches' poll for third straight week
BALTIMORE - The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association released its weekly Division III men's lacrosse coaches' poll on Monday and Salisbury University continues to hold down the No. 1 spot for the third consecutive week this season. The Sea Gulls (6-0) collected all 240 points and all 12 first-place votes.
The top five received a bit of shake up this week as Salisbury is followed by SUNY Cortland (3-0) who bumped up one spot with 224 points. Capital Athletic Conference member Stevenson University (4-0) jumped from No. 7 to No. 3 in the poll after defeating previously second-ranked Gettysburg College 16-6 last week. Middlebury remains at No. 4 after the Panthers began their season with a 16-13 win over Bates College. Roanoke (6-0) soared into the top five after spending last week at No. 9 as it received 190 points.
Washington and Lee University (4-0) made the biggest surge over the last couple weeks, going from unranked to No. 19 to now in the top ten. This week the Generals find themselves at No. 10 after they defeated previously sixth-ranked Washington (Md.) College, 9-3 on the road.
Salisbury will return to action this Wednesday when it hosts Marymount (Va.) University in a CAC contest at 4 p.m. at Sea Gull Stadium.
