Sea Gulls back in Top 5 in the USILA coaches' poll

BALTIMORE - The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) coaches' poll released its weekly Top 20 on Monday and Salisbury University moved to No. 5 in this week's poll after spending last week at No. 10. The Sea Gulls (14-3) garnered 192 points and one first-place vote.

Roanoke College (16-0) ascends to No. 1 in the nation, becoming the third team this season to hold the top spot. The Maroons collected 10 first-place votes and 256 total points. Roanoke is the last undefeated team in Division III this season. Middlebury College (11-1) moved from No. 3 to No. 2 as the Panthers received 237 point. Former No. 1 Stevenson University (14-1) dropped to No. 3 after the Mustangs fell 13-5 to the Sea Gulls in the Capital Athletic Conference championship game on Sunday. The Mustangs received two first-place votes and 233 points. Ithaca College (13-1) remains at No. 4 for the second consecutive week as the Bombers 226 points in this week's poll.

The Sea Gulls will next face Eastern Shore rival Washington (Md.) College, who received votes in this week's poll, on Saturday, April 25, on the road in Chestertown, Md., at 1 p.m. At stake is the Charles B. Clark Cup, given to the winner of the regular-season matchup between the two Division III schools. SU has won every Clark Cup since its inception in 2004.
