Sea Gulls remain No. 5 in the nation for second straight week

BALTIMORE - The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) released its weekly Top 20 coaches' poll on Monday and Salisbury University remains at No. 5 for the second consecutive week. The Sea Gulls (15-3) collected one first-place vote and 208 total points.

Roanoke College (16-0) holds a tight grip on the top spot for the second straight week as the Maroons remain the only undefeated team in Division III. Roanoke garnered 12 first-place votes and 259 points. Middlebury College (13-1) remains No. 2 as the Panthers received 242 points. Ithaca College (14-1) fresh off its Empire 8 championship collected 225 points and moved up one spot to No. 3. Capital Athletic Conference foe Stevenson University (14-1) fell to No. 4 as the Mustangs collected 223 points.

Salisbury will next wait for the official announcement of the 2009 NCAA Division III men's lacrosse tournament field which will be announced on Sunday, May 3. The Sea Gulls, the two-time defending national champions, won the CAC tournament back on April 19 with a 13-5 win over former No. 1 Stevenson University to earn the automatic bid.
