Berkman among five in vote for 2012 Best Men's Lacrosse Coach

BALTIMORE - The Salisbury University men's lacrosse team is fresh off of its 10th national championship in 2012, and Head Coach Jim Berkman is in the running for Lacrosse Magazine's Best Men's Coach in its "Best of Lacrosse 2012" series.

Berkman is one of five coaches in the poll. He is up against Lehigh University's Kevin Cassese, the Chesapeake Bayhawks' Dave Cottle, Colorado State University's Alex Smith and Loyola University's Charley Toomey.

Berkman had a historic season in 2012 that included winning his 400th career game as an NCAA men's lacrosse head coach. He was the first to reach the milestone.

The voting will be open for the next two weeks and will close on Oct. 29 at 3 p.m.
