Men's lacrosse raises over $11,000 for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University men's lacrosse team hosted the University of Mary Washington on Saturday, March 18 for the team's eighth annual Lax 4 Leukemia Youth Day and far surpassed its goal to raise $8,500.

The annual silent auction was a big hit with local and national businesses donating items to be auctioned off. The combination of the silent auction and various donations raised $11,136 with all of the proceeds going directly to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Maryland.

In addition to raising money for the LLS, the fans in attendance got to watch a great game as the Sea Gulls picked up a 17-5 win in their first Capital Athletic Conference contest of the year. Nathan Blondino led the offense with one goal and six assists, while Carson Kalama and Nick Garbarino also has stellar games with five goals apiece.

The Gulls next play on Wednesday, March 22 with a home contest against Marymount (Va.) University. That game is set to start at 7 p.m.
