Men's lacrosse ranked No. 2 headed to CAC championship game

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University men's lacrosse team has been ranked as the No. 2 team in the nation, according to both the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association poll and the Laxmagazine.com rankings released on Monday.

The Sea Gulls (16-1) went 1-0 with a 22-9 win over the University of Mary Washington in the Capital Athletic Conference semifinals.

In the USILA poll, Bates College is in first with 429 points and 13 first-place votes. The rest of the top five is comprised of the Sea Gulls (422 points and the remaining nine first-place votes), Rochester Institute of Technology (372 points), York College of Pennsylvania (360 points), and State University of New York – Cortland (332 points).

In the Laxmagazine.com rankings, Bates gets the top spot and is followed up by Salisbury, RIT, Denison University, and York.

Salisbury's next game will be played on Saturday, April 29 at Sea Gull Stadium as the Sea Gulls will host the CAC championship game against No. 4 York. That get is set for 1 p.m.
