PERRY, N.Y. – The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association released its first Division III Coaches Poll of the regular season and Salisbury University held the No. 1 position that it had from the preseason poll.
Salisbury earned 379 points and 18 of the 19 possible first-place votes following a 2-0 start to the season, which included wins against Hampden-Sydney College and No. 12 Lynchburg College.
Wesleyan (Conn.) University picked up the other first-place vote and 357 points to sit at No. 2, while Rochester Institute of Technology (340 points), Denison University (314 points), and York College of Pennsylvania (311 points), round out the top five.
Along with Salisbury and York, two other Capital Athletic Conference schools are receiving votes, with Frostburg State University and Christopher Newport University in the mix.
The Sea Gulls are back in action this Saturday, February 17 hosting Widener University at Sea Gull Stadium, beginning at 1 p.m.
