Men's lacrosse holds No. 1 spot in USILA poll

PERRY, N.Y. – The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association released its latest Division III coaches' poll on Monday, and Salisbury University remains the No. 1 men's lacrosse team in the nation.

The Sea Gulls picked up 399 points and 19 of the 20 possible first-place votes, while Wesleyan (Conn.) University grabbed the final first-place vote and 374 points to sit in second. Rochester Institute of Technology (339 points), Denison University (331 points), and York College of Pennsylvania (330 points) round out the top five.

Salisbury won its lone game in the past seven days, topping Widener University, 18-6, on Saturday, February 17.

The Sea Gulls and York are joined in the poll from the Capital Athletic Conference by Christopher Newport University, which stands at No. 20 with nine points while Frostburg State University is receiving votes.

Salisbury returns to action this Saturday, February 24 for the team's first road game of the year at No. 13 Gettysburg College.
