Men's lacrosse comes in at No. 3 in USILA poll

PERRY, N.Y. – The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association released its latest Division III coaches poll on Tuesday morning, and the Salisbury University men's lacrosse team came in ranked No. 3 in the nation.

The Sea Gulls totaled 390 points while receiving one first-place vote. Rochester Institute of Technology picked up 436 points while garnering the most first-place votes of any team with 11 to earn the nation's top ranking. Wesleyan (Conn.) University came in at No. 2 with 411 points and eight first-place votes. Denison College and Capital Athletic Conference rival York College of Pennsylvania rounded out the top to five finishing No. 4 and No. 5 respectively.

Salisbury lost its only game in the past seven days falling to now No. 6 Gettysburg College in double overtime, 11-10, on the road at Gettysburg, on Saturday, February 24.

The Sea Gulls and the Spartans are joined in the top 20 by fellow CAC opponent No. 20 Christopher Newport University, which is sitting at 4-0 thus far this season.

Salisbury returns to action on Sunday, March 4 when it travels to Ohio Wesleyan University for a matchup with the Battling Bishops. Face-off between the two programs is scheduled for 12 p.m.
