DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference released weekly lacrosse awards on Wednesday afternoon and Salisbury University lacrosse sophomore Kevin Murphy earned recognition from the organization as he was named the Division III South Defensive Player of the Week.
The Sea Gulls posted a 1-0 mark last week picking up a 20-10 victory over Capital Athletic Conference opponent the University of Mary Washington on Saturday, April 14. For the game Murphy finished with a career-high four caused turnovers while picking up four groundballs as well. He and the entire Salisbury defense managed to hold the Eagles to a season-low 19 shot attempts.
Salisbury returns to action on Wednesday, April 18 when it travels to Marymount (Va.) University. Face-off between the Sea Gulls and Saints is scheduled for 4 p.m.
