PERRY, N.Y. – The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association released the 2018 Scholar All-American award winners on Monday morning. Kyle Tucker earned recognition from the organization as he was named to the list of Scholar All-Americans after his exceptional performance in the classroom during his senior season.
Tucker was equally impressive on both the field and in the classroom posting a cumulative grade point average of 3.37 and a spring semester GPA of 3.25. On the field Tucker helped anchor a strong defensive unit that posted a goals against average of 7.14, which finished the season ranked 23rd in the nation. He appeared in all 24 games making 23 starts scooping up a team-best 98 groundballs, causing another team-high 49 turnovers, while also adding in three points on the offensive end netting one goal and dishing out two assists.
For his career Tucker will finish with 93 games played, 249 groundballs, 140 caused turnovers, two goals and three assists.
Tucker was one of 76 players recognized by the USILA as a scholar All-American during the 2018 season and is one of eight players from the Capital Athletic Conference that earned the accolade. York College of Pennsylvania had five players recognized while Christopher Newport University had two make the list.
