Men's lacrosse vs. Frostburg St.
The Salisbury University men’s lacrosse team earned its seventh straight victory on Saturday afternoon downing Capital Athletic Conference opponent Frostburg State University, 17-2 on the teams Senior Day and Lax 4 Leukemia Youth Day. Frostburg struck first to take a 1-0 lead eight minutes into the game but the lead wouldn’t last long as the maroon and gold went on an impressive 16-0 goal run en route to the dominating victory. Griffin Moroney led all Sea Gulls for the day netting a team-high in both goals, with six, and points, with seven total. Both are new season and career-highs for Moroney who passed his previous marks of four goals and six points which he set last week in Salisbury’s 20-10 win over the University of Mary Washington. Since the Calendar has flipped to April Moroney has netted 15 goals, dished out three assists, and accounted for 18 total points. Overall, nine different players netted markers for Salisbury including Garrett Reynolds, who netted two of his own and Freshman, Ryan Brown. Brown capped the Sea Gulls scoring for the afternoon with this impressive finish grabbing the loose ball in front of the net and firing it past Bobcat goalie Jack Marks. Salisbury returns to action on Tuesday, April 24 when it takes on St. Mary’s College of Maryland in the team’s regular season finale. Face-off is set for 7 p.m.
