Men's Lacrosse vs. Kenyon
The eighth ranked Salisbury University men’s lacrosse team got back to their winning ways on Wednesday afternoon with a convincing 20-2 victory over visiting Kenyon College. The Sea Gulls raced out to an 11-0 halftime lead and never looked back en route to the 18 goal victory. 11 different players tallied goals for the maroon and gold as Emory Wongus and Austin Short led the way with three apiece. It is both career-highs and first career hat tricks for each player. Wongus netted two of his three markers in the second capping a 9-0 scoring run by the Sea Gulls through the third and fourth quarter. For the season Wongus now has seven points on five goals and two assists. Austin Short netted two of his three in the first half as he was one of six players to find the back of the net in the first quarter alone. All three of Short’s goals were unassisted markers and gives him five now for the season. Brandon Warren earned not only his first victory of the season but also his first collegiate victory. He saw just over 40 minutes of game action and accounted for three saves Salisbury’s five saves on the afternoon. Overall, four different goalies saw action of the maroon and gold allowing a season-low two goal. Salisbury returns to action on Saturday, March 10 when it hosts rival Stevenson University. Face-off between the Sea Gulls and Mustangs is set for 1 p.m.
