LOUISVILLE – The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association released its 2019 USILA/Warrior and New Balance Coaches Pre-Season Division III Poll and the Salisbury University men's lacrosse team enters the season as the second ranked team in the country receiving three first-place votes.
Salisbury is coming off a season in which it went 20-4 overall and 7-1 in Capital Athletic Conference play, winning 14 straight games en route to its 21st CAC championship. The Sea Gulls also advanced to the national title game and ended the year as the national runner up.
Wesleyan University enters the season ranked as the top team in the nation earning 12 first-place votes. Rochester Institute of Technology, which received one first-place vote, is ranked third while Tufts University enters the season ranked No. 4. Amherst University, which also earned a first-place vote, rounded out the top five.
Salisbury was joined in the poll by CAC opponents York College of Pennsylvania and Christopher Newport University. The Spartans come in ranked No. 7 while the Captains are No. 13.
