FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Capital Athletic Conference released weekly men's lacrosse awards for the week ending March 3 and for the third time this season senior midfielder Corey Gwin earned conference recognition as he was named CAC Offensive Player of the Week.
Gwin turned in a solid week for the maroon and gold aiding the team in its 18-9 victory over Ohio Wesleyan University on March 3. Gwin totaled both career and team-high's in goals and points racking up seven and nine respectively. He scored five of his seven goals in the opening half including all three of the Sea Gulls' goals in the second quarter.
Currently Gwin ranks first on the team with 17 goals and 23 total points while those numbers are good enough for second in the CAC.
Salisbury returns to action on Saturday, March 9 when it travels to No. 19 Stevenson University. Faceoff between the Sea Gulls and Mustangs is set for 7 p.m.
