Sea Gulls remain atop Division III lacrosse in latest USILA poll

LOUISVILLE – The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association released its Week 7 USILA / Warrior and New Balance Men's Lacrosse Division III Coaches Poll on Monday morning and Salisbury maintained its stranglehold on the top spot in the nation.

The Sea Gulls, who posted a 1-0 week downing visiting State University of New York at Geneseo 18-3 on March 23, received 19 of the total 22 first-place votes while they totaled 436 points in the process.

Amherst College picked up the other three first-place votes and garnered 419 points to hold the No. 2 spot in the poll. Tufts University and Rochester Institute of Technology found themselves in a tie for No. 3 as each team totaled 378 points in this week's poll. York College of Pennsylvania (349) found itself back in the top five after its 11-7 victory over now No. 6 Cabrini University (314) on March 22.

Christopher Newport University rounded out the list of Capital Athletic Conference teams in the top-20 as the Captains dropped on spot to No. 15 and totaled 123 points.

Salisbury returns to action on Wednesday, March 27 when it travels to No. 6 Cabrini for showdown under the lights with the Cavaliers. Faceoff is set for 7 p.m. at Edith Robb Dixon Field.
