Melton earns second straight CAC Offensive Player of the Week honor

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Capital Athletic Conference released weekly awards for men's lacrosse and for the second consecutive week junior attackman Josh Melton was named the CAC Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week.

Melton turned in an exceptional performance against the Knights of State University of New York at Geneseo totaling a new career-high 11 points, netting five goals and tying a career-best in assists with six.

Melton totaled nine of his 11 points in the opening half including having a hand in all five second quarter goals for the maroon and gold as he found the back of the net twice and dished out another three assists.

He currently ranks second in the CAC in points with 50 and third in assists with 22. Those numbers also rank first on the team respectively.

Salisbury returns to action on Wednesday, March 27 when it travels to No. 6 Cabrini University for a 7 p.m. showdown with the Cavaliers.
