LOUISVILLE – The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association released its Week 8 Division III Lacrosse Coaches Poll on Monday morning and Salisbury University retained its top spot in the nation after a 2-0 week.
The Sea Gulls picked up 19 of the total 21 first-place votes while they garnered 418 points to maintain their grip on the No. 1 ranking.
Amherst College held at No. 2 in the country picking up the other two first-place votes while totaling 401 points. The Rochester Institute of Technology (362) came in at No. 3 in the nation while Tufts University (356) remained at No. 4 in the poll. The top five was rounded by Capital Athletic Conference rival York College of Pennsylvania, which picked up 336 points to maintain its top five ranking.
Christopher Newport University, the only other CAC team in the poll, dropped three spots to No. 18 in this week's poll and earned 64 points.
Salisbury returns to action on Saturday, April 6 when it travels to Frostburg State University to take on the Bobcats at 11 a.m.
