BALTIMORE – Inside Lacrosse released its latest media poll on Wednesday afternoon and Salisbury University entered the week as the No. 3 team in the country.
The Sea Gulls picked up 219 points and one first-place vote in the latest edition of the poll after turning in a 1-1 week.
The Rochester Institute of Technology took over as the new No. 1 team in the nation garnering 233 points and eight of the 12 first-place votes. Capital Athletic Conference rival York College of Pennsylvania moved up one spot to No. 2 after downing Salisbury in a top-three battle last week. The Spartans earned three first-place votes and totaled 229 points.
The rest of the top five stayed the same as Tufts University held strong at No. 4 with 205 points while Wesleyan (Conn.) University rounded out the top five with 190 points.
Salisbury returns to action on Wednesday, April 24 when it travels to St. Mary's College of Maryland to close out the regular season. Faceoff between the Sea Gulls and Seahawks is set for 4 p.m.
